Sunshine prevailed as exhibitors turned out an admirable show of stock at this year’s Westmorland County Show

Larger entries were seen in the cattle lines at this year's UK Dairy Day where national shows were held for the Holsteins, Ayrshires and Brown Swiss breeds.

Last year’s record average was broken once again at this year’s Kelso ram sales, where the 3,444 rams sold averaged £1,056.35; up £57 on the year with an 81 per cent clearance and a turnover of £3,638,070

Despite the scorching heat, exhibitors were not deterred from the show ring at Kington.

THE pre-sale show champion, the ram lamb Hilltop Goliath, led the trade at 90,000gns at the Solway and Tyne Texel Club sale at Carlisle.
