Hustler Equipment is on a mission to help farmers and ranchers Achieve More Everyday with the Worlds Best Livestock Feeding Solutions.
Hustler is an 100% Kiwi and family-owned farming machinery company specialised in livestock feeding equipment.
From humble beginnings on a farm in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand in 1961, steady increase has led to the creation of a global company with exceptional foundations. Hustler builds uniquely engineered, world-class products which are formed from an innovative heritage of ingenuity and combined with a wealth of industry knowledge and experience. Hustlers innovation is all supported with its heritage, by rethinking the everyday, every day right from the beginnings.
Building a Jet Engine for his push-bike at just 8 years old was one of the many inventions that just occurred on the Curries family farm. Needless to say, when Russells father discovered the contraption, he tried to pull the hand brake on the idea.
That same inventive gene went on to kick off Hustler Equipment some 60 years ago with that very gene running through 4 generations and creating a thriving global company Head Quartered only a few miles from the original farm in the back blocks of New Zealand.
Hustler has grown its business on global demand, by staying at the forefront of an industry where technological developments are constantly emerging and discerning buyers are seeking to improve their efficiencies.
Much of the testing and trialling of new equipment is carried out by end-users in the field, and around the world to ensure that Hustler products meet the demands of a global market.
Hustlers farming equipment range includes bale feeders, multi-feeder wagons, silage wagons, bale handlers and pasture mounted boom sprayers.
Despite difficulties in the supply chain across all industry sectors, Hustler has been productive this year. In 2021, the brand overhauled their feedout wagons ranges, with the addition of the large-capacity combination feedout wagon Combi RX218 which set a world record last April for the highest number of bales fed out in eight hours straight.
The multi-feeder wagons are a product completely new for the European market and has already won over some large-scale operations in the UK.
Adam Atkinson from Caulston Farms, an organic spring block calving operation in South Devon uses a Hustler Combi CM136. The machine has taken a lot of limitations away by being a low maintenance, robust and a 100% versatile feedout wagon.
Atkinson feeds whatever he can put through the CM136 may it be clamp silage, whole crop silage, bales, hay, straw or fodder beet. This doesnt only mean a variety of feed and nutrition available for the 600 cows, but it also means there are no restrictions on what feed they have on hand and this gives them the freedom to act economically and grow their crops according to the herds needs.
If we had a season with paddocks to close up, we can make bales. Or we can make clamp silage or grow fodder beet, Atkinson explained. And feed it all out with one single machine.
Everything we got from Hustler is well built and simple and we wont have to replace it for a very long time, Atkinson concluded.
But what really made Hustler famous in the UK and Ireland was its range of bale feeder, with various models adjustable to any types of operation.
Duncan farms in Scotland on 1,600-acres is home to roughly 1,000 ewes and 80 suckler cows. Duncan was looking for a quick and efficient way to feed his livestock and recently decided to invest in Hustler. He is now the proud owner of an Unrolla LX105 bale feeder. In addition to finding an efficient system that saves him time every day, Duncan also saves on fuel and maintenance costs.
The Hustler unroller is ideal for my job, Duncan said.
I dont feel that Ive got the most efficient way to unwrap and load bales yet, but its very easy to hold the bale above the unroller with the loader, cut the net, then turn around to pick it up and distribute. Its also near-perfectly clean with no fodder ending up on the ground at the loading site. There was always some mess loading the straw blower, and thats after 10 years of practice!
By stopping using his straw blower to feed out his livestock and investing in a Hustler unroller that requires minimal maintenance and runs 100% hydraulically, Duncan can recoup his investment quickly.
In terms of tractor diesel and servicing costs, thats at least 600 a year reduction. Thats without counting the value of my saved time, Duncan noticed.
Hustler respects their brand and reputation so much that they would rather have the machine back than it not work for their customers. Ensuring the machine is the best fit for their clients that if for any reason its not working 100%, Hustler has 30 days to get it working or they will refund the purchase.
Hustler also stands behind the claims of what their product does, with a 4-year warranty on most of their products.
